Best childhood memory? Annual family reunion trips to Dead Lake, Minnesota every summer from birth until I was in college. My dad’s side of the family is large (7 brothers and sisters) so I have lots of cousins. About 40-50 of us all would go to a fishing cabin resort in Minnesota on Dead Lake and fish, play games, sit around the campfire, go to the local town turtle races, etc. They were amazing memories with all my family - Grandparents, Aunts/Uncles, cousins, etc.
Best Ivie memory? It was the successful development, production and installation of the 2002 Petsmart Holiday signage program. It was the largest signage program they had ever done. It was tough and had its share of challenges but we were able to pull it off and the client was very pleased even though the Creative Director threatened me with my life if it didn’t go well. I think he was kidding or speaking metaphorically?
If you were a character from a movie, which character would you be? If? What if I told you I actually WAS a character in a full-length movie? It’s true and I was. I was involved with and also a supporting role in an independent movie called Strangeheart. It is a Monty-Python meets Rocky Horror type spoof of Mel Gibson’s Braveheart. I was one of William Wallace’s (main character) crew and since I was about as tall as him, was often positioned close to him so all the others wouldn’t look so small. We premiered the movie in Dallas at the Angelika theater where it ran for 3 months. Then moved to the Magnolia for a couple months then has been shown all over the U.S. (about 70+ cities) and even internationally. Blockbuster.com sells the DVD (or at least they used to) and there was/is a website www.strangeheart.com It was a lot of fun and a crazy experience.
