BUSINESS SITUATION:
This client is a national jewelry retailer with five divisions and operates 2,075 stores. The divisional store operations range from high end, high fashion jewelry to value-priced jewelry.
The retailer had previously used a variety of vendors to print their catalogs, inserts, and sign kits for each division and provide fulfillment services for their sign kits and store replenishment materials. With their divisions’ operating independently of one another, they were significantly overpaying for their printing and fulfillment services due to the redundancy of services being provided and the loss of production efficiencies.
THE SOLUTION:
In June of 2002, Ivie was contracted to provide full printing and fulfillment services for the retailer’s five operating divisions. Ivie provided the following services:
- Assigned service and printing production procurement teams to each division, which were dedicated to working exclusively with client’s personnel, and focused on executing the client’s jobs and projects
- Established processes and procedures to streamline communication with client’s marketing personnel, shorten production schedules, and shorten response times
- Evaluated client’s overall printing and fulfillment needs to determine and create printing, fulfillment and shipping efficiencies
THE RESULTS:
After the first year of printing, fulfillment and shipping, Ivie provided cost savings to the client ranging from 30%-100% for every project compared to their costs for those projects in previous years.
